I saw a Honda badge on the front of the car so did some Googling. The car is probably a Honda Acty. It is only sold in Japan, but because of the registration rules there a lot of relatively new cars are sold for export. I don’t 100% know if the Acty is street legal for the US - but I would be surprised if it isn’t. You might need to get the paint job done yourself though. (Ok - I subscribed to be able to make this comment - so my tipping point is a feeling of being able to help? )
Best laugh during reading goes to this line: "R70 (70% human-like blue-gray skinned hairless humans with silver eyes who have almost-human personalities like Mike Pence)"
The Warhol recommendation went a long way towards keeping Humanoids alive, so to speak. It's transcreative futurist ending is up there with Saul Bass's Phase IV. In the usual shorthand history of pre-Star Wars sci-fi film history many flicks get left off the roster. It's like the narrative of punk where after the Sex Pistols suddenly Nirvana shows up to save the day. Even total classics like The Day The Earth Caught Fire are now left out and nearly forgotten.
I am also virtually car blind! Twice in the last two weeks, I have tried to open the incorrect car in a parking lot. It wasn't until I looked in the car window and saw the interior of the car that I realized it wasn't mine.
My practical idea on the cups is ice water in the inner cup and lower the outer cup into hot water. My impractical idea is varying frequency sound waves until you hit the resonance of one of the cups and it wobbles enough to dislodge them.
I did the exact same thing recently with some corningware. Works great. Only comment I would add is that a bit of water (with or without salt) with the ice helps cool the cup faster.

Thank you so much, Graham (on both counts)

Excellent analogy, Marc. I've not seen "The Day The Earth Caught Fire." Is it worth checking out.
Oh yeah! Forgotten classic. On the lower end of the budget "The Earth Dies Screaming" is strangely compelling.

Fill the large cup 2/3 of the way with water and 3 drops of liquid soap. Microwave for 45 seconds. Remove small cup. (Use hot mitts)
